Here’s another batch of photos from a whole series of work in progress. The first cabinet in Yellowheart and Maple is a commission designed in an Egyptian Revival style. It’s mostly assembled at this point, just needs the drawers. Should be quite nice when it’s all done.
The next is a small nightstand in Mahogany and Curly Anigre and is the first piece in a five piece bedroom set in the same materials. These pieces will feature some beautiful handmade hardware from Avigal David in Israel that is being customized for these pieces.
I’ve also been making 10 sets of Carpathian Elm Burl and Ebony backsplats for a set of dining chairs. These will feature lines of inlayed Mother of Pearl between the Ebony and the Elm. Here is a shot of what one set will look like installed in the chairs. This will be the view from the back of the chair. The dining table that goes with these chairs also will have the Elm, Ebony and Mother of Pearl detailing. Should have some rough pictures of that in a week or so.
Pretty soon I’ll add a few pictures of a new kitchen that will be completed this week, and I’ve got two more articles for Fine Woodworking magazine ready for photos next month. If it seems like a lot is going on its because there is a lot going on, all this and a few more projects that I haven’t photographed yet.
