Description:
A set of two matching Maple and Cherry desks for a returning client.  The design is taken from a Fine Woodworking article the client provided and has been adapted to the clients needs.  The desks each have four drawers, a slide out writing surface and a slide out keyboard tray behind the drop front.  The pulls are all turned from a single small piece of Rosewood and buffed to a high gloss.  Both tops are made of book-matched figured Cherry boards.  The tops are finished with a hand rubbed Oil and Varnish mixture while the bases and interiors are finished with super blonde Shellac rubbed to a beautiful satin sheen.  These desks were some of the early pieces I built using solid wood before I began incorporating figured veneers into my work more frequently.
